Today is the final day for defaulting employers to pay outstanding contributions to the Fiji National Provident Fund otherwise names will be forwarded to the Immigration Department.

The FNPF had issued a notice giving employers ten working days from the 22nd of last month to pay or make arrangements to pay outstanding contributions, otherwise names will be forwarded to the Director Immigration to prohibit them from leaving the country.

The FNPF said more than $7 million is owed and the action was necessary because they have a duty to collect the money for their members.

Manager Public Relations & Corporate Communications Wainikiti Bogidrau said they are trying to collate the figures, and after the deadline they will put out a general statement on the success of the notice and how many people will be on the travel ban list.

The ten day deadline ends today.
