It’s D-day for Barack Obama and John McCain as 130 million Americans are expected to vote today to elect the new US President.

Voting across the United States is flocking to the 300,000 polling stations.

Republican, John McCain is attempting to defy the opinion polls while Democrat, Barack Obama is seeking to become the country's first Black President. Obama and McCain voted in their respective home cities of Chicago, Illinois and Phoenix, Arizona. Record numbers are expected to turn out, adding their ballots to the 29 million people who have voted early.
