Cyclone damage report out today
This has been confirmed to Fijivillage this morning by acting director DISMAC Pajiliai Dobui who said they are still receiving and compiling reports and are putting it together for release.
He said more than 100 families are still living at evacuation camps in certain parts of the country a week after Tropical Cyclone Mick adding 13 evacuation centres are still activated and these are mostly in the Rewa delta area.
Meanwhile, the Australian branch of the Methodist Church is prepared to help its congregation who were badly affected by Cyclone Mick.
Assistant general secretary of the Methodist Church in Fiji Reverend Tevita Nawadra said they are calling on the respective division heads to assess the situation in their area, after which a report will be given to their branch in Australia.
Meanwhile, Oarsman’s Bay Resort general manager Ratu Epeli Bogileka said in the Yasawas, the resort needs more development to help become cyclone proof.
