The Nadi Weather Office has called on people living in the Western and Southern parts of the country, to prepare themselves for flash flooding and strong winds, as the indirect effect of Tropical cyclone Funa is expected to be felt from later today or tomorrow.

Director Rajendra Prasad said Tropical Cyclone Funa is passing over Santo, in Vanuatu and at 9 o'clock this morning it was located at about 1,160 kilometers West North West of Nadi. He said the cyclone is moving East South East at 15 knots and at present poses no direct threat to Fiji however it will bring widespread rainfall.
