Charges are expected to be laid against a man who allegedly put up nude photos of his ex-girlfriend on an internet website.
Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the man is still in police custody under interrogation and is expected to be charged later today.
Five cases of locally produced pornographic materials are now being investigated by the Cyber Crimes Unit.
Cyber Crimes Unit Officer in charge, Seru Neiko confirmed to Fijivillage that they are investigating five cases along with a recent case involving a man who allegedly put up nude photos of his ex-girlfriend on an internet website.
A major investigation started after the emergence of several pornographic materials involving locals on the internet.
Neiko added they are identifying the people and taking them for questioning in relation to their roles in the production and distribution of such pornographic materials.
An increase in cyber crime has also been recorded.
According to figures provided by the Unit, to date there are 92 cases reported of cyber crime.
