The Fiji Manufacturers Association said more stringent measures should be taken up by the Customs Department with regards to the import of goods.
On the eve of the 2009 Budget announcement, Association president Desmond Whiteside said while they are looking for zero ratings in import tariffs, they would also like to see the Customs Department have better measures at clearing goods into the country.
The 2009 National Budget will be announced by Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama at 11am tomorrow.
