The Chiefs who were part of the Bose ni Turaga have agreed that some cultural practices within Indigenous Fijian communities were a strain on the capability of most Fijians.

Interim Minister for Indigenous Affairs Ratu Epeli Nailatikau has revealed that the 125 chiefs at the Bose ni Turaga were briefed by the Institute of Fijian Language and Culture who made presentations on issues which are of concern to the modern indigenous Fijian.
