Crushing at the Lautoka Mill will not start from next Tuesday now as originally ordered by the Sugar Tribunal.

The Acting Sugar Industry Tribunal Anu Patel said the new date for crushing is now on the 16th June and the decision was taken with consultations with Fiji Sugar Corporation and the Sugar Cane Growers Council.

Patel is calling on farmers to harvest enough cane and deliver it to the mill on 15th June so that crushing can start on time.
