If the Crusaders are looking for an omen to break their Super Rugby title drought it could be their starting line‑up.
The side have All Black super stars Dan Carter and Richie McCaw both starting the first game of the Super Rugby season together for the first time since 2008, which was the last time they won the title.
The Crusaders open their campaign against the Rebels in Christchurch tonight, however it will be fellow flanker Matt Todd that has the captain's duties.
The Crusaders face the Rebels at 6.35 tonight while the Brumbies will play the Reds at 8.40pm.
