The Crusaders have opened the Super Rugby season with a nail biting 19-18 win over the Blues in Auckland last night.

The Blues scored two tries to the Crusaders one, all in the first half at Eden Park.

The Crusaders led 16-12 at half time.

The Blues first five Michael Hobbs was also handed an off field yellow card for his high tackle on midfielder Ryan Crotty.

Former Hurricane Piri Weepu couldn’t nail a last second dropped goal for the Blues in the 82nd minute as Crusaders held on for a tense 19-18 victory.

Fijian born David Raikuna also scored a try for the Blues in this match.

In other Super 15 results, Brumbies defeated Force 19-17 and in the last hour Bulls defeated the Sharks 18-13.

Meanwhile, at 6.35pm today Chiefs will take on Highlanders and Waratahs will face Reds at 8.40pm.
