The Crusaders kept their Super Rugby title hopes alive by beating the tournament leaders Chiefs 28-21 in an epic clash last night.

The Chiefs had already qualified for the Super Rugby finals and won the New Zealand Conference but the Crusaders had to win to stay in contention after their loss to the Hurricanes last week.

The Crusaders outscored the Chiefs by two tries to two and failed to score the bonus point try while the Chiefs picked up a losing bonus point for finishing within seven points.

The Chiefs play the Hurricanes next weekend and they will be hoping to secure a home Semifinal while the Crusaders will host the Western Force in Christchurch.

On the other hand, the Sharks kept their Super Rugby title hopes alive for another week when they shocked the Bulls with a 32-10 bonus point victory this morning.

The Sharks started the match in eighth place but moved above the current Super Rugby champions the Reds with a bonus point victory.

In other matches last night, Reds defeated the Highlanders 19-13.
