Aaron Cruden hopes his running game can reignite the Hurricanes' stuttering Super Rugby season in Canberra on Saturday night.

Cruden let the cat out of the bag yesterday in revealing he would wear the No 10 jersey for the first time in more than a month against the Brumbies.

He also revealed some advice from the All Blacks coaches recently had boosted his confidence and encouraged him to go back to his natural game.

Cruden admitted he had listened to his critics after missing out on the All Blacks for last year's end of year tour and had tried too hard to be something he was not.

But Hurricanes fullback Cory Jane made no bones about his desire to see his halves adopt a more attacking mind set.

Jane's comments echo those of second five eighth Ma'a Nonu following last Saturday's 26 14 loss to the Bulls.

The Brumbies host the Hurricanes on Saturday at 9.40pm.
