Aaron Cruden is optimistic he has fully recovered from his broken thumb and should be ready to make his comeback against the Hurricanes this weekend.

Cruden who is with the All Blacks training group in Christchurch until Tuesday, has not been sighted in Super Rugby since suffering the injury after the Chiefs drew 43 all with the Cheetahs last month.

The match up between Cruden and Hurricanes first five Beauden Barrett will be keenly anticipated by the All Blacks selectors and fans alike.

This Friday, the Blues take on the Sharks at 7.35pm while the Rebels play the Waratahs at 9.40pm.

On Saturday, the Highlanders play the Crusaders at 5.35pm, the Hurricanes play the Chiefs at 7.35pm while the Force take on the Lions at 9.40pm.
