Crowds flock to Showcase
These are the words of organizer Total Event Company manager Loretta Jackson who said opening last night was a good choice, the first time this has been done in years.
Jackson also said Showcase still has a lot to offer people who want to check it out.
Meanwhile, the National Fire Authority has used this opportunity to continue to educate people about fire safety tips with the idea of starting with small kids and working their way up to the adults.
Fire officer Jim Nakaruru said what kids learn stays with them for life especially when it comes to fires which is why they decided to use a smoke house to make their demonstrations seem real.
The National Fire Authority Smoke House is outside the Vodafone Arena and this will be a chance for the family to learn safety tips.
Also Ben Kakauvalu is a happy man today after his name was drawn as the first winner of the Pacific Blue ticket to Australia after entering the Fiji Showcase, writing his name on the back of a ticket and dropping it in the bin provided.
There are eight more winners to be chosen, one winner for each day of the showcase.
Meanwhile, on the Entertainment side, Cookie the Clown strutting his stuff at 5.30, James Johnson and his big balloon show at 7pm and the Great Gondos with Roberta with her odd body positions and Repeater at 8 tonight.
The Fiji Showcase gates close at 9 tonight with tickets selling at $3.50 for adults and $2.50 for children 3 years and over.
