Digicel Fiji 7's Coach Josateki Savou believes that those critics who are commenting on his decision to replace key players in the team during the semifinal loss to New Zealand in the Adelaide 7s do not understand what the players were going through.
Speaking to Fijivillage Sports Savou said that he had to substitute Mosese Volavola because he was exhausted while Lepani Nabuliwaqa was carrying an injury from the pool game against Kenya.
Meanwhile, national 7s team member Lepani Nabuliwaqa is calling on rugby fans in the country to understand that putting together a team to win in the IRB 7s series is not easy as the results do not come overnight.
Nabuliwaqa used the New Zealand 7s team as an example where they only managed to win the last two tournaments last year but the team has been playing together since 2006.
The Fiji 7s team arrived last night and the management team will meet with the FRU Games Committee this Friday to discuss on what went wrong in Hong Kong and Adelaide.
