Sexual offences involving minors is one of the major area that the Fiji Police Force is trying to combat during its awareness programmes.
Director Community Policing, SSP Unaisi Vuniwaqa said generally they have seen a decrease in other serious crimes however crimes including minors is still a concern.
SSP Vuniwaqa said they are now visiting different communities and villagers in order to raise awareness.
According to Vuniwaqa in most of the cases involving minors, the suspects are known to the victims.
