All Blacks halfback Jimmy Cowan is expected to leave New Zealand.
Cowan will announce tomorrow if he will be heading to England at the end of the year to join Gloucester.
Cowan has been relegated to the Highlanders second choice halfback this season and has been kept out of the starting lineup by Aaron Smith.
The Highlanders will play the struggling Blues at 7.35pm Friday.
