The courts around the country remained closed for the third day today as we await the President to announce the Judicial Services Decree and appoint Judges and Magistrates.

It has been confirmed that senior court clerks are now handling bail and custody cases in accordance with the Bails Act until the Judges and Magistrates are appointed.

In the meantime, all the Court registries are deferring cases on the call list for a period of one month.

Meanwhile, police remain stationed at the Director of Public Prosecutions Office until such time when the DPP is appointed.

Former DPP Joe Naigulevu moved out of the office yesterday after his dismissal.
