Courts Homecentres Fiji Limited has today written to the Town and Country Planning Office raising concern over a 16 feet by 40 feet billboard which is being constructed at the Votualevu Roundabout blocking their Courts Mega Store and their landlord Automart's car yard in Nadi.
Courts Homecentres Chief Operating Officer, James Datta said they are shocked to see that three concrete pillars have been mounted on the reserved land with two 40 feet containers placed on top of each other and the huge billboard mounted on the containers.
Datta claims that the people responsible for putting up the huge billboard did not get the proper approvals from the Town and Country Planning Office and the Lands Department, as he said the land belongs to the state.
However the Director of Go Advertising Limited, Charles Wakeham who are responsible for putting up the billboard, said all the proper procedures have been followed in getting the necessary approvals.
Fijivillage News contacted the Nadi Town Clerk, Robin Ali this afternoon. He said he will check whether the approval was given to Go Advertising. The Town and Country Planning Office is yet to comment on the issue.
