Court tells alleged rapists to file more documents
The five, Jack Prasad, Christopher Sharma, Sada Singh, Premila Devi and Ana Rekeki who are charged with two counts of rape, abduction and act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, appeared before High Court Judge Justice Daniel Gounder this morning.
It is alleged that the five abducted the 23 year old woman from Queen Elizabeth Drive between 6pm and 9.30pm last Monday.
It is alleged that the offence was committed in a van while the five were on their way to Nausori and they later dumped the girl in Raralevu, Nausori.
The woman later reported the matter to police.
It is alleged that the abduction was pre-planned and a result of a family dispute.
Justice Gounder has given the defence counsel till 3pm this afternoon to file a motion of affidavits for bail.
The case will be called again on the 1st of September.
