A man who was accused of obtaining money by false pretense was acquitted by the Suva High Court after the assessors found him not guilty.

Roger Raj Prasad, a former manager of Heath Lambert Insurance Fiji Limited, was alleged to have obtained $25,000 in 2001 from his former employer.

High Court judge Justice Salesi Temo said that following the six day trial, the three assessors returned with an unanimous verdict of not guilty and that it was open to the assessors to reach such a conclusion on the evidence provided.

Judge Temo agreed with the assessors and acquitted Prasad accordingly.
