The Fiji Court of Appeal will this afternoon hear submissions from Convicted Murderer, Simon McCartney's lawyer, Sevolini Valenitabua on an application for bail pending appeal.
The case was called this morning before Fiji Court of Appeal Judge Justice John Byrnes who adjourned the case till 2.15 this afternoon to hear submissions from both the counsels.
McCartney who was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment for the murder of his wife Ashika Lata McCartney has appealed the High Court's ruling.
Justice Byrnes was today served with fresh submissions from Defence and State Counsels to which he said should have been made earlier adding that to file submissions on the hearing date was not good enough.
