The Chair of the Forum and Premiere of Niue Toke Talagi said the High Court judgment seems to perpetuate the coup culture in Fiji however he believes that getting rid of the coup culture is what the Interim Government is trying to do.

Talagi said that in the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders decision in Niue in August, the desire for continued dialogue and engagement is paramount and this process was never contingent on any court decisions, or other factors.

Meanwhile, Forum Secretary General Tuiloma Slade added the Secretariat is working closely with the Interim Government on its re-engagement in the Forum Joint Working Group adding that this is a good sign especially when the Interim Government has shown an interest in accepting another visit by the Forum Foreign Ministers in the Ministerial Contact Group.
