Valelevu Police are questioning a couple for allegedly obtaining thousands of dollars from a number of people under false pretences.
Police confirm the two who reside in Nadawa, allegedly obtained a large sum of money from a number of people promising them in return for a piece of land.
It is further alleged the woman pretended to be a lawyer while her partner said he is a senior employee of her law firm.
The two were arrested after complains from more than five people that they have been deceived.
According to police, the two also have some previous convictions of similar nature while some cases are still pending in court.
They are expected to appear in the Valelevu Magistrates court on Monday.
