As countries continue to issue negative travel advisory's against Fiji, the Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum confirms that all concerns raised by the diplomatic corp on the situation in the country are addressed by the interim government.
Speaking to Village News, Sayed Khaiyum said while the overseas missions in Fiji are made aware of the situation in the country, they are not consulted before negative advisories are issued.
Sayed Khaiyum said the interim government's advice is also not reflected in the travel advisories.
Despite the lifting of the Public Emergency Regulations, the British, Australian and American Government continues to advice their citizens to exercise precaution when traveling to Fiji.
The advisories state that there remains a potential for civil unrest and British citizens are to avoid military or political rallies and large gathering of people. It also advises its citizens to avoid openly discussing openly the political situation in Fiji.
