Councils Didn’t Understand Role-Nawalowalo
Nawalowalo said the team believes that majority of members of the Naitasiri Provincial Council did not understand the team's role because they were only there to inform the decision of the government of the day.
He also said that it was unfortunate yesterday that politicians influenced the members of the Provincial Councils.
Naitasiri Provincial Council members yesterday questioned the Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo why the GCC Review Team wants their views now when the new GCC regulation is already gazette.
Newly appointed Naitasiri Provincial Council Chairman Ilaitia Tuisese said they were disappointed that their first submission given to Ratu Tuakitau Cokanauto was not taken into account. When Nawalowalo got up to explain why the regulation was already gazetted, the provincial council members told the GCC Review Team of Nawalowalo, Ratu Filimoni Ralogaivau and Ratu Jone Naeqe that they only had 5 minutes remaining and it was better for them to leave. The review team then presented their tatau and left the meeting venue.
