Terminated members of the Nasinu Town Council, who have recently been removed from Office by the Interim Minister for Local Government, Jone Navakamocea are now challenging the legality of his appointment.
Lawyer representing 12 of the terminated councilors, Rajendra Chaudhry confirms that his clients' claim includes that the appointment of the interim minster is illegal and thus he does not have the powers to remove the council members.
Solicitor General Christopher Pryde confirms that they will represent the Interim Minister in the case and said they are waiting to see what transpires on Friday when the case is called before commenting on the matter.
