The Nasinu town council is now working with police to eradicate all illegal garage operations within its boundaries and some such operators have been given 24 hour notices to shut down operations immediately.
Special administrator for Nasinu, Mosese Kama revealed to Fijivillage news that around 25 illegal garages are operating from residential properties and they have brought in the police to ban such practices.
Meanwhile, according to the 2007 censors Nasinu's population stands at around 88,000 residents, and Kama said even now they have only 13,000 residents listed as rate payers.
