The Consumer Council has received various complaints on the increase in prices of items following the 20% devaluation of the Fiji dollar announced yesterday.
Chief Executive Premila Kumar said a number of retailers and distributors have increased the prices of items overnight.
Kumar added that fair market practices should be employed by the businesses and they should not take advantage of consumers adding that they have compiled a list of names of distributors and retailers who increased the price of their product following yesterday's announcement.
