After complying with conditions set down by the Chinese Exim Bank, the Housing Authority is now awaiting a final decision on the $70 million loan.
Acting CEO Alipate Naiorosui said one condition was to hire a Chinese Building company for surveying and building the new low cost housing and all plans are on hold till approval comes through.
Naiorosui revealed that this money will be used for development in Tacirua, Nepani and other places in the Central Division.
Meanwhile, the Nasinu Town Council is hoping that squatter settlements in the Nasinu Town boundary will be reduce within the next few years once the Housing project in the areas is completed
Town Administrator Meli Bogileka said there are more than 30 thousand squatter residents in Nasinu and they have been advised to be prepared in the next few years.
