Suva Lord Mayor Peni Volavola said the council is finding difficulties in developing some land, as the Government is unable to relocate people living in squatter settlements who are occupying the council's land.
Volavola adds this is a national issue and the Government should urgently do something about this.
Interim Local Government Minister, Jone Navakamocea is expected to comment on the matter later today.
