The Fiji Local Government Officers Association is hopeful that the Lautoka City Council will listen to their grievance of wage increment to avoid strike action by 48 council workers this Friday.

Association President, Rohit Singh said they had served a 28 day notice to the council on 28th February which expires on 28th March.

He added that council should understand that union members need a pay rise to make ends meet and ignorance by the council will severely affect the essential services.
