Work on the removal of asbestos from the Suva Market is expected to begin in the middle of November.
Speaking to Fijivillage Suva Lord Mayor Ratu Peni Volavola said the council will be carrying out the removal of asbestos only during the night when the market will be free of people.
Ratu Peni said the work is expected to take four weeks and his officers have undergone thorough training with the OHS department in handling asbestos.
