Europe Based project and construction management firm Coteba is claiming $2.6 million in damages from a subsidiary company of the Fiji National Provident Fund.

Lawyers representing Coteba International confirm that they have filed a write of summons in the High Court against Natadola Bay Resort Limited for alleged breach of contract in connection to Coteba's role in the multi million dollar resort project.

According to Jamnadas and Associates lawyer Renee Lal they filed the action as Coteba has not been paid fees for many months and it is the first time a large international company is taking legal action against a company owned and controlled by members pension funds.

Coteba is also claiming general damages relating to NBRL.
