Children who face corporal punishment in schools later, develop a dislike for those in authority.
These are the words of a psychiatrist Dr Selina Kuruleca who said that those students who get assaulted in schools by their teachers, develop social problems which affects them in life.
She added that there are other ways to manage children in schools, adding that it is unethical for teachers to use corporal punishment.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Filipe Bole said it is against the ministry's regulation to hit students in schools.
However, he added that if a matter is reported and taken to the court, a teacher can still teach depending on court’s decision.
