Interim Education Minister Filipe Bole said that the use of corporal punishment in schools is prohibited and teachers implicated will be severely dealt with by the Ministry.

In a statement, Bole stresses that the Ministry fully understands the situation teachers face daily, regarding indiscipline in children.

The Ministry is also requesting teachers to manage their anger effectively.

He adds that parents should invest their time nurturing and moulding their children, into virtuous individuals instead of leaving the task of character building for the teachers.
