The Fiji Police Force said the zero tolerance policy on officers found drinking kava at Police stations remains.

Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni said since the implementation of the ban, they have also noted an improvement in their service delivery, as officers are more alert.

Teleni adds with their target of reducing crime and being more people oriented, officers are now able to deliver their best work as effects of kava drinking at work is no longer an issue they have to deal with.

He said he is happy that his officers have shown no objection to the ban adding the response has been positive, as officers have noted that both their work and personal lives have benefitted.

Teleni adds the last complaint they received was two months ago and they continue to monitor their officers regarding the issue.
