Copeland to be disciplined
Fijivillage has received confirmation that Copeland was allegedly drunk in the Games Village during the games in New Caledonia.
It is alleged that he got into a scuffle with some athletes of another participating country and also allegedly swore at a games official.
Our sources within the Games Village say that Copeland had to be carried from the cafeteria as he was intoxicated with liquor.
When Team Fiji athletes left for the airport to catch the flight back to Fiji from New Caledonia on Sunday, Copeland was drunk again.
He was so intoxicated that he had to be brought out in a wheelchair when Team Fiji arrived at the Nadi International Airport.
We questioned Athletics Fiji President, Albert Miller about these incidents and the bad image it creates about our national team.
Miller said Team Fiji is now waiting for their Manager’s report.
Team Fiji Chef De Mission, Patrick Bower is yet to comment on Copeland’s behaviour.
Meanwhile Copeland recently qualified for the 2012 London Olympics.
