Fiji’s Leslie Copeland has smashed Fiji’s Javelin record and qualified for Olympic Games in London next year.
Copeland competed in the World Universiade Games in China yesterday in the Men’s Javelin event throwing of 80.25 metres.
The Olympic Games qualifying B Standard is 79.50m.
Leslie’s previous best throw and Fiji Record was 76.95m set at the New Caledonian Invitational Meet held in October 2010.
Meanwhile, fellow athlete Banuve Tabukaucoro competed in the 100m event yesterday in a time of 10.63 seconds which qualified him through to Round 2 which he ran in 10.49s.
Banuve has qualified for the semifinals which will held later tonight.
The London Olympic Games will be held from 27th July to 12 August next year.
