Australian rugby's bad boy, Quade Cooper is set to hold a media conference in Brisbane today to announce his first professional boxing bout.

There has been speculation Cooper would also confirm he is walking away from rugby.

He has a three year deal with Queensland Rugby, but is yet to sign a contract offer from the Australian Rugby Union.

The fly half has a long held interest in boxing and has often been seen at bouts in the company of Anthony Mundine.

Cooper was reportedly furious at receiving a low, incentive based contract offer from the Australia Rugby Union and could walk away from the sport in Australia.
