Reds and Wallabies playmaker, Quade Cooper should be back on the field sooner than first expected.

With the 61-8 humiliation by Bulls on Sunday, there is a great need for someone like Copper to bring back the spark for the defending champions.

The Reds have targeted an April 6 return for Cooper return when they face the Brumbies.

Cooper got injured in Australia's bronze medal play off with Wales in the Rugby World cup last year.

Reds will be playing Western Force at 10.4pm this Saturday.

Meanwhile, in the lone Super rugby game this Friday, Highlanders will play Rebels at 6.35pm.
