With only two months left for the Pacific Mini Games, the Pacific Games council has warned it may withdraw the right for the Cook Islands to host the Pacific Mini Games in September.

The council has stressed that unless the Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee or CISNOC address the problems in the running of the local organizing committee, the games will be called off.

The council understands that CISNOC has not been given sufficient control in the areas of finance and decision making and are racing against time to complete the sporting facilities.

Meanwhile, council president Vidya Lakhan has written to the Cook Islands government and CISNOC warning that the games could be cancelled.
