A hotelier and chief of Nacula in Yasawa, Meli Bogileka has called on people to ensure that alcohol does not control them this Christmas.
Bogileka said people must not be easily carried away and tempted by the invitations from friends to a drinking party as this can lead to disputes.
He is calling on people who love to drink to take control of it and not to let the alcohol control their lives.
With the rise in stabbings and other violent crimes associated with increased consumption of alcohol over the past few weeks, Bogileka adds that family should come first during this festive season.
