The Interim Prime Minister said the Forum Ministerial Contact Group is confused after meeting with political party leaders as their mandate was to only check with the authorities on how preparations for elections are being carried out.
Commodore Frank Bainimarama said it was not the Contact Group's job to meet with politicians as they would just say the same thing they have been saying since December 5th, 2006.
Commodore Bainimarama stresses that no date has been set and there will be no election in March 2009 at this stage.
The Ministerial Contact Group will present their report to the Pacific Islands Leaders Forum in Niue next month. However they have already announced that Fiji can have an election in March 2009.
