Consumers fork out more money for household items
According to Bureau of Statistics, consumers had to spend more money on wheat products, fresh fish, fruits, dairy products and market products such as Chinese cabbage, imported carrot, garlic and chilies which went up by 1.6 percent.
Statistics also revealed that last month consumers paid more money for durable household goods, clothing and footwear which increased by 0.2 percent.
Higher prices were also recorded for petrol, diesel, new tyres and spare parts which went up by 0.1 percent.
It also revealed that the price of alcoholic drinks and tobacco went down by 0.6 percent, low price was also recorded for heating and lighting which decreased by 0.4 percent while there a 0.3 percent decrease in price of medical goods, toiletries and laundry goods.
Meanwhile, the inflation rate for last month stood at 5.8 percent, the similar was recorded for the same period last year.
