The Consumer Council of Fiji is calling on the Transport Ministry to immediately intervene and call for a stop to the bus fare increase implemented last week due to complaints received from the consumers.

Chief Executive Officer Premila Kumar said consumers have not been given the proper information on stage mergers, new fare structure, no proper bus tickets and no stage marking.

She said they continue to receive complaints regarding the new fares as consumers are still confused and they do not know where the stage starts and ends.
