The Consumer Council of Fiji met with Vodafone Fiji officials this morning regarding the "Text car razy contest" after receiving complaints from members of the public.
Coucil Chief Executive, Premila Kumar claims Vodafone is running a lottery and not a promotion and questions why enforcement agencies, including Department of Communication and the Commerce Commission are not doing anything to stop the competition.
However, Vodafone's Manager Corporate Affairs Shalendra Prasad said that their promotion is in no way classified as a lottery and adds that the practice is also carried out by other companies in the country.
This is after receiving a complaint from a member of the public with regards to the $1.98 text charge for texting to win gift packs.
