Fiji Consumer Association has called on authorities to implement harsher penalties forsupermarkets who sell expired foods.
Secretary Paras Sukul's call comes after some supermarkets in Labasa were found to be selling expired food items.
Sukul said those supermarkets which sell expired food are violating the Food act.
