Plans and documentation into the construction of the new $20 million Police Headquarters to be built at the corner of Malcolm and Selbourne Street in Suva is still being undertaken.

Fijian Holdings Chairman Isoa Kaloumaira said they are still carrying out the feasibility study and the construction plan still stands and they are waiting for finer details and documentation.

The twin tower complex will be built on a Build-Operate-Transfer basis at Lots 8, 9 and 10 at the corner of Malcolm and Selbourne Streets.

Following completion of the building, FHL will lease the building to PSC for the use by the Police Force.

In return, PSC will make monthly payments including rental, property management fee, facility charges and other fees.

The building will be transferred to the PSC after FHL fully recovers its capital and other associated costs.

Based on the actual cost, this may take 20 or more years.

Construction is expected to start in the 3rd quarter of this year.
