The Constitution is expected to come into effect by the end of next month.

This has been confirmed by the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama who was speaking to NZ's Radio Tarana.

Commodore Bainimarama has also stressed that a free and fair election will be held in Fiji by September next year.

He said it will be the first genuinely democratic election in the country's history and the government is building a new and better Fiji for everyone which he says he promises to deliver.
